Educational Requirements:

· Matric

· Relevant tertiary education

Experience and Skills Required:

· Strong Java 5 SE or greater language skills

· Strong SQL skills

· Basic Linux

· Excellent understanding of database concepts

· Understanding of the Software Development Cycle

· Mobile industry, TCP or multi-threading knowledge advantageous

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to work with relatively little supervision in a disciplined manner
• Have good written, verbal and listening skills
• Be a team player
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude
• Strong ethos of writing high quality applications, including documentation and versioning
• Pro-active and takes on responsibility for code and applications developed
• Be able to work under pressure

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

· Creating and maintaining documentation and following client specifications

· Developing according to object oriented design principles

· Ensuring code is robust using industry proven methodologies and tools

· Supporting and maintaining applications

· Debugging and fixing software faults and optimizing system performance

· Working with the team or independently when required

· Remaining current on Java development or changes
