Description:
We are a small software development company located in JHB and the developers of MailArchiva (see http://www.mailarchiva.com). We design and export our software to global markets. Our immediate need is to improve the scalability of our server using technologies such as Hadoop and Katta.
For this role, you’ll need a broad understanding of software technologies.
Here are the skills, attributes that are needed for this position:
- Excellent knowledge of Java, J2EE, Eclipse, OO design, UML, etc. – Familiar with OO design and implementation – Ability to conceptualize a problem and put it into pracise – passionate about software and computers – thoroughly comfortable with Linux / Windows system administration – have good working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, databases, etc. – good understanding of basic networking concepts and practical application – good communication skills – willingness to work silly hours on occasion as our customers are international – familiar with basic linux and DOS scripting – excellent troubleshooter and problem solver – hard worker, A-type needed – strong overall technical skills with an ability to adapt to situation at hand – South African citizen or valid work permit
