Description:
We are an International Software Vendor with a development team based in Cape Town. We are looking to permanently employ more Junior Java Programmers. We develop a web-based product that is used across various industries/sectors, ranging from very small to large international clients in size.
Typical responsibilities could include
• Java development of both backend/server and frontend components related to our web-based product including supporting systems like the website and management systems. This includes scripting (e.g. JQuery)
• New development, complimentary or integration to other systems – including mobile and embedded development
• Participate in Research & Prototyping
• Code maintenance and testing of software
• Technical Support on our Product
Personal Characteristics
A logical thinker with sound analytical abilities and good communication skills. You should therefore be able to listen carefully, as well as break down and verbalise complex topics in a manner that makes sense to others. Good organisational and interpersonal skills are required. Your appearance and actions should always be in line with our corporate policies and you should at all times conduct yourself in a professional manner. You must be able to work well within a team environment and be customer service orientated.
We require someone has the ability to absorb new information quickly and apply it constructively. A conscientious, hard worker with a willingness to learn from everyone. Someone who is adaptable, takes pride in their work and can get things done on time with a high level of attention to detail. A self-driven and motivated individual who loves doing research on technology.
Essential Qualifications and Experience (Provide proof)
• A valid Matric certificate with Maths as subject (passed on higher grade)
• Quality Tertiary Programming certification or diploma (in Java or web-based programming with a working knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc.).
• Well versed in various mark-up languages and a working knowledge of relevant industry standards
• Sound knowledge and experience with SQL (MySQL)– JPA/Hibernate experience advantageous.
Remuneration Package
Dependent on your experience, however negotiable total cost to company package. Please indicate expectation if any. Mandatory probation period may apply. Please note: Recruitment consultants need not apply (sorry)!
