Prop Data is looking for an L1 Support Engineer to join our existing support team in Durban. Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s skills and experience.

You will almost certainly have: – Rock solid windows desktop experience. – Excellent verbal communication skills. – Proficiency in e-mail and internet access. – Familiarity with a Linux based hosting environment. – Great troubleshooting skills.
It would be helpful and advantageous if you had: – Hosting experience. – Linux / UNIX experience. – System administration experience with change management and deployment in an SLA-driven environment.
Your responsibilities might include (but also probably will not be limited to): – Telephonic / e-mail technical support. – Configuration of ADSL and e-mail accounts. – Documenting faults accurately. – Escalating out of scope faults to senior support personnel.
But even more importantly we are looking for someone who: – Obsessively pays attention to detail. – Can work unsupervised in an unstructured open environment.
