An international manufacturing company has an opening on their Database administration team with strong Oracle Database and MS SQL experience.
We are looking for your following skills:
Knowledge of UNIX, Microsoft operating system
VBScript, KornShell Scripting
SQL Server 2005 / 2008, Oracle database
Operations processes (incident, problem, change management) as part of the ITIL.
Cross functional IT landscape interfacing with database management
You will be responsible for the following:
Database server installation, configuration and database administration – security, backups/restores, application profiling/tracing, create users and manage their permissions, creating/moving databases, data transfers, SQL scripting
Actively search and respond to situations that pose a risk to the systems in time and with appropriate measure – with preventive maintenance taking centre stage
React to Remedy tickets (job cards) within DB specific service catalogue, especially time to react (TTR).
Develop scripts, partly ad-hoc, for systems administration, and maintain monitoring.
Implement and maintain databases and database objects. Resolve database application queries and problems. Improve SQL code and program performance. Perform database upgrades and performance tuning.
Responsible for the full DBA function on all databases within scope of the team.
