Main purpose of the Job
The Connect division in Cape Town currently has vacancies for Product Managers who, reporting to the Head of Products, will be accountable for managing the lifecycle of technology based products.
Job Outputs
·Craft and execute portfolio strategy within directives provided by Exco
·Act as the business owner for MWEB Connect products and services, which may be under development, in use undergoing extension or re-development
·Responsible for business and product feasibility in relation to business modelling, forecasting sales potential, costing models and target market assessments
·Project revenue and expense targets per product line on a weekly, monthly and annual basis to manage these products and achieve revenue targets
·Serve as an internal and external promoter to MWEB Connect products and services
Skills and Competencies
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Must be able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Show an aptitude for problem analysis and resolution
· Strong negotiation and analytical skills
· Have a strong technical understanding of Internet products and services
· Excellent presentation skills
· Project management and co-ordination abilities
· Be persuasive and tenacious
· Confident and resilient
· Attention to detail
· Show pro-active initiative and strategic thinking
· Possess a degree of creativity
· Be decisive and show good judgement
Qualifications and Experience
· Degree in commercial or technical field
· Sound knowledge of Internet Service Provider and Mobile products and services
· Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and MS Visio
· At least 2 to 3 years experience in a product management, ISP or telecommunications industry or alternatively 3 to 4 years experience in a marketing/sales technology based environment
· Proven experience with presentations to senior management and external stakeholders
· Previous experience in product implementation
