Job Description:
The position of Quality Controller within the Development team entails the following responsibilities:
• Preparation of a Test Plan as directed by the Technology Director.
• Review of Functional Specifications for omissions, contradictions and ambiguities that will prevent the scripting of tests; reporting issues found during formal reviews.
• Production and execution of test scripts as directed by the Development Director.
• Informing the Technology Director of resources required to assist in the scripting of tests.
• Completion of ‘ad hoc’ testing as directed by the Technology Director.
• Record of ‘bugs’ found during the execution of testing in accordance with the defect logging procedures.
• Carry out such tasks as directed to meet the needs of the business.
• Execute a test script accurately.
• Assist in the production of test scripts from specifications.
• Participate effectively in script reviews.
• Demonstrate testing skills.
• Maintain appropriate level of skills and knowledge.
• Keep personal computers in a sensible configuration commensurate with testing requirements.
• Bring to the attention of the Technology Director any aspect of the product that may be questionable from a user’s point of view.
• Bring to the attention of the Technology Director any aspect of the test scripts which may be inaccurate, incomplete, ambiguous or not in accordance with good testing practice.
• Notify the Technology Director of any factors that may affect performance in the execution of tests.
• Participate in formal reviews, team meetings, one to one meetings, appraisals and training.
• Represent the Testing discipline at project meetings.
Skills Required:
• Must have at least 1yrs experience in Automated Testing ( Will know VB scripting)
• High levels of self–motivation, resilience, drive and initiative.
• Methodical with an eye for detail.
• Problem solving skills.
• Product and legislation knowledge.
Personal Qualities:
The successful applicant must be able to work in a team, to work under pressure and to tight time scales. The individual must have good listening, verbal and written communication skills as well as good organisation and time management skills.
This individual must be able to compile automated test scripts using Test Complete. They will be mainly responsible for Payroll II, but will also assist with other products.
