Senior Developer / Technical lead

Salary negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
An Investment company based in Pretoria is looking for a Senior developer who still wants to code in the short term, but have experience in fulfilling a technical leadership role. This will not be part of the position’s responsibilities in the short term, but is an opportunity which may arise within the next 12 – 15 months.
Academical requirements (any of the following)
BSc Comp Science
BSc Software Engineering
BCom Information Systems
MCSD.Net
MCTS (Win and Web development)
Or other relevant qualification
Technical Requirements – 10 Years development experience (At least 3 yrs C# experience) – Extensive Win Forms experience – Advanced SQL skills (5 years) – Experience using SQL Server 2005 – Experience with SQL Replication – Experience in Object Oriented design and development – Experience developing and supporting .Net Web Services – Experience using UML – ASP.Net skills – Experience in researching new technologies – Experience working with XML and XML based technologies – Knowledge of Source code versioning and managing principles – Experience in creating technical documentation
Tools – Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 – Microsoft Team Foundation Systems – Microsoft Visio – Microsoft SQL 2005 Management Studio
Other Requirements – The successful candidate will join a team of 5 developers who work closely together with a team of Business analysts and will report directly to the development team leader. – The team is responsible for developing and supporting an investment administration system which is deployed at six regional offices across the country. – The technology used is Win Forms and SQL 2005 and the work consists of developing new functionality as well as providing maintenance for the existing system. – The ideal candidate has a passion for technology and a strong desire to do things right.
