• Monitoring, development, maintenance and improvement of trading application network for Equities trading, with diverse other responsibilities;
• Monitoring, development, maintenance and improvement of UNIX and Linux-based server infrastructure;
• Helping to improve networking skills of other team members;
• Assisting with networking elsewhere within the group when required;
• Maintenance, testing and development of networking aspects of BCP;
• Based in Sandton, with occasional travel to Cape Town offices, other facilities and client premises;
• Must have own transport;
• Must be completely fluent in English (written and spoken);
• Required to work occasional overtime;
• Must not have any criminal record;
• Dual reporting to Network Manager and Head of Equity Trading Support.
Skills List
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with networking hardware and UNIX/Linux (preferably in Financial Services);
• Cisco and Linux qualifications advantageous;
• Previous equity trading exposure highly advantageous;
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Ability to focus under extreme pressure;
• Good team player, but capable of operating independently and exercising initiative;
• Excellent IPv4 understanding;
• IPv6 exposure advantageous;
• VoIP experience advantageous;
• Writing Reports and Documentation;
• Experience with a scripting language advantageous;
• Experience in preparing reports;
• Operating Systems & Technologies
