Software Engineer Ruby / Java / Python
A growing software company that develops a product for the production and analysis of market research data which is used by large multinational companies around the world is looking for a talented Software Engineer. The job will primarily involve using Ruby and Rails, but will also include Javascript/Coffeescript and some Scala. The problems that need solving include concurrency, multidimensional data mining, advanced graphic visualisation using HTML 5, scaling and harnessing utility cloud computing. Work is a fun start up environment with other like minded developers in a great office with access to table tennis table, lounge area, beer fridge, etc. Salary depends on level of experience R25k-R35k
You will be involved in extending the rapidly evolving analysis platform as well as creating new products. It’s a fast paced, agile environment focused on software delivery, and they operate as close to the bleeding edge as possible to leverage other open source projects.

Requirements;
- 3+yrs software development experience
- Knowledge on more than 1 programming language (Java / Ruby / Python / C# / Scala / C++ )
- Strong web development / web application development (HTML 5, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with the Mac, Linux and open source web frameworks
- It’s not essential to have a CompSci or engineering background if the candidate has clearly demonstrated the mastery of programming.
- passionate about creating software and take pride in your work
- Being up to date with the latest software practices, open source movements and web frameworks is also advantageous.
