SQL / Business Intelligence Developer Developer
Fourways, Johannesburg
Salary open depending on qualifications and experience
A company based in Fourways are looking to expand their software development team with a smart, fun and adaptable Intermediate SQL Developer.
Their development projects range from creating customized dashboards to writing reports as well as new ASP.NET and SQL Server development.
Primarily developing on Microsoft SQL Server and Visual Studio platforms there are many web application and database challenges that they meet.
Essential Skills
• 3-4 years experience in Microsoft, SQL Server and ASP.NET, development.
• BSc Computer Science or relevant qualification
• Strong in TSQL (joins, stored procedures, views, triggers…)
• Ability to create/modify complex TSQL for querying purposes and generating reports.
• Troubleshooting stored procedures, queries and application performance
• Web development experience in ASP.NET (2.0 or above, C#)
• Competent use of ADO.NET (2.0 or above, C#)
Beneficial Skills
• Good relational database design understanding
• Administration knowledge of SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
• Understanding of best practices for ASP.NET development (Caching, Data Binding, OOP concepts…, C#)
• Exposure to JavaScript and AJAX
• Understanding of N-Tier systems: presentation, application and database layers that form distributed systems
• Ability to follow technical specifications and create technical specifications when necessary
• Qualities we are looking for: positive attitude, team player, hard worker, someone who is willing to learn, calm under pressure,
ability to multitask, strong communication skills, time management skills.
Duties
• Develop dashboards (charts and gauges) for visual representation of KPI’s and other strategic information.
• Write TSQL reports for use in SQL Server Reporting Services and Crystal Reports.
• Development of new systems in SQL Server and ASP.NET for future products.
• Engage with developers and management in team discussions and meetings.
