Purpose of the Role:
To develop business information models and reports according to the specifications in support of projects. Also maintain a stable environment and multitask between daily administration tasks and new code development.
Knowledge and Experience:
Qualification in SQL Server Database Design and/or Administration.
OR
Any other relevant courses or certifications.
Minimum of 2 – 3 years DBA experience with solid T-SQL coding and Reporting Services knowledge.
MS SQL Server 2000; MS SQL Server 2005; MS SQL Server 2008; SSIS/DTS; SSRS; SSIS
•New Development and Maintenance of existing code
The person must show proper understanding of the design specification for either new development, or the alteration of existing procedures.
He/she must estimate the time required for the completion of the project.
Designing and documenting of code and/or package and/or reports.
Proper testing of the design.
•Functional Responsibility
The role requires the candidate to completely understand complex large scale data models and the underlying business processes and produce reports in various formats.
Gather reporting requirements for scheduled reports or ad hoc requests.
Develop impactful reports using SSRS, MS Excel, Pivot tables and other intuitive graphical add-ons.
Design layout of reports and determine the best way to present data to end users.
Validate the data represented on each report.
Prepare required documentation on each report.
•Additional Responsibility
Apart from the main focus of generating and maintaining reports, the candidate will also assist the rest of the DBA team with maintaining and managing the servers, which will include daily tasks such as backups and indexing, as well as bigger projects such as SSIS package design, stored proc creation and generating T-SQL queries to manage and extract data.
