Position: Windows Systems Engineer


Reports to: Acting Engineering Executive


Purpose of the role:


· Provide assistance to NOC on escalations


· Assist in the design and implementation of new systems and infrastructure


· Ensure existing systems and infrastructure are kept up to date


· POC of new systems and technologies


Key Requirements:


· Windows 2003 / 2008


· IIS 6 / 7


· SQL 2003


· SQL 2008


· SQL 2000


· Mysql 4 & 5


· Development background advantageous


· ASP Scripting


· Exchange


· PHP on Windows


· .net Installation / troubleshooting


· Helm Control Panel Experience – advantageous


· Plesk Control Panel Experience – advantageous


· Overall knowledge and understand of Website Hosting


· Thorough understanding of DNS


· Thorough understanding of Mail


· VMWare Experience – advantageous


Minimum Requirements


· Thorough understanding of AD


· Exchange


· Solid knowledge of SQL, scripting languages, windows.


· Solid understanding of the innards of the Internet (DNS / FTP / Mail / IIS / HTTP etc…)


· Work experience working with databases, SQL Server, Stored Procedures, etc…


· Work experience coding in Windows based languages (ASP/ASP.NET/C#.)





Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)


· SLA’s on Services Uptime and Performance based


· 3rd Level Support to Hosting and Dedicated server clients


· System design and implementation.
