I'm busy planning out a system to be completed later in the year, eventually to include a couple of the new Polaris/Pascal GPUs and whatever CPUs get launched. While I wait for those, I'm looking at case options. I'm thinking a full tower with CPU water-cooling and regular air for the GPUs. Not too concerned about how the case looks, mostly interested in cases with good air cooling that doesn't sound like a jet. Cost isn't really an issue, but I'd like to keep it around 3k.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Coolermaster HAF X, Corsair Graphite 760T, or the NXZT Phantom 820 (although I'm struggling to actually find this for sale anywhere, which might torpedo that as a choice). I really like the 240mm side fan of the HAF, it'll be ideal for a couple bigger GPUs, but I don't like the 20,000 optical drive bays. I'd rather have that space be open for ventilation such as in the Graphite. The Phantom seems great too, although I'm not sure how much front-facing cooling there can be with that face plate covering half of it.

Do any owners of the above cases have any comments on their suitability?

i have the Coolermaster HAF X .

Cooling is great with standard air cooling on both GPU and CPU. I equiped it with 6 Corsair fans and it does not make a noise (sitting right next to me on the desk)

My opinion:

It is too damn big, it does not fit under my desk where my other mid towers used to fit
Has lots of space for cooling (if you want to go full liquid)
You can more or less design all the compartments yourself, you do not have to stick to their orrigianl layout.
Airflow is great. My pc has stock cooling (and the additional 6 fans) and my cores has never reached anything higher than 65 (both GPU and CPU) and this was a few days ago in 38 degree temps, and under extreme load.
