Hi Folks,
Please advise me how best to go about this?
I'm trying to help a family; the lady has had her leg amputated and I want to start a fund raising project to assist them purchase a prosthesis - a prostesic limb ( hope the terminology is correct). The lady in question is a widow and although she has two children (2 x boys, 20 & 25) they no way earn enough to buy one. They don"t even own assets (a home); they rent in Benoni, so really down and out.
How does one acquire a fund raising number and who are the authorities to approach?
Would appreciate all and any ideas.
I've posted some photos on "Tinypic website" to show authenticity of this request.

Thank you, Janinki...mighty kind of you. I will email you all the details once the ball starts rolling. I realize that though if there are funds involved, one has to first acquire a "fund raising number" and I'm still trying to overcome that hurdle.

I might be able to organise a "fun walk" for funds... PM me all the details or email me on [email protected] and I will talk to someone who can help

Why was her leg amputated?

I only got acquainted with this family since 2010, when I first donated some stuff to them. But I'm given to understand that she first had to get some treatment on her leg (for injury) and because of limited resources went to a public hospital - story then goes is that she picked up some infection in the hospital. The infection spread over the years despite many return treatment visits to the hospital until eventually she was basically dragging along a dead limb. She was then advised that unless she underwent the amputation she risked losing her life; this from a more private medical facility, when she managed to scrape up the funds to visit.
