Do you have, for what amount are you covered and what is your premium? Just discussing funeral cover, not all kinds of add-ons.

I got quotes for:
R30 000 for 3 x people each @ R255 p/month
R20 000 for 3 x people each @ R255 p/month
R60 000 for 3 x people each @ R502 p/month

Mine's included in my bond repayments as part of my insurance so I can't remember what it is off hand. I do however know its also around 30k per person.

I got a call from Metropolitan last week that quoted R93/month for R50 000 cover for me alone. Didn't take it up.

I bought a cast iron fireplace this weekend, reckoned it would cheaper to DIY the cremation ourselves. Might need to get all Dexter on the body at first, so next up is a good meat saw, any recommendations?

I have a few all thrown in with other policies for free.

But if I die just put me in a dingy set me alight and push me into the ocean.

I could be mistaken, but I think you get better rates if you bundle this with life cover.

Why not work through your broker and find out what your current insurance offers/ can offer.
eg Death and permanent disability R100 000 @ +- R55 p.m. for 3 people (depending on age/occupation) under Personal Accident section. Ok might not offer full dreaded disease cover but it sure is cheaper and you can add medical costs and temporary disablement to cover costs whilst not earning.
This is more for accidental death but some sickness's can be covered as well.

I suggest check it out as an option before getting ripped off by the "con artist" funeral cover suppliers.

You can buy some pine and wood screws for even less. The back garden is very cheap :)

Shop around before signing on the dotted line.

Like approach credit providers such as;Edgars(Edcon),woolworths, if you have an account with them, not sure the prices offhand.
Clicks do have a free funeral cover up to R5 grand per month.

Check with your employer sometimes they do have extra benefits but fail to mention them. When my dad passed away there about 3 policies just on funeral with his employer.
