Someone had a usb stick (Toshiba 8GB) plugged into their tv watching something, pressed 'stop' on the remote and afterwards it would not work. Windows does not pick it up at all.

Suspect a hardware issue, any ideas?

It should be seen as /dev/sdb.

I just format it to fat32 and pop them in. Anything else and I'll have endless problems. Even use that for OTG.
