G-Connect, is there a catch?

Excuse the necropost, but I'd also like to request finding a way around the double login.
Being able to use the same data pool on multiple access mediums truly is awesome, but the login is an absolute killer in the home, and a serious PITA on 3G too for anyone that uses online apps on a smartphone (iPhone, Symbian, etc).
In my case, using the gconnect apn on my iPhone means every time I want to quickly check an online app I first have to sign in using Safari. At home, the Xbox, PSP, XBMC and router dyndns are all affected by this.

Go to PC... Get landing page... Keep the session window open... Minimize session window... leave it... Connected for as long as you do that.

Having to start up a pc and log in just to use the net on other devices kind of defeats the convenience of using those devices (eg gaming on a console). Besides being inconvenient, that's a waste of power.

Any other idea/suggestion what can be done regarding your issue then?

What I used to do was to run a anti-idle program on windows startup. But now their pre-paid prices don't match afrihost so I went bye bye.

I don't think GConnect realises how many users it has lost due to it's cheap-ass login mechanism. It was tolerable when it was the cheapest around, but everything changed when Afrihost came along.
