Reviews on newegg says that applications almost loads instantly... grin :D

Did you get the lappie from there too, or local? Nice.

R3800...hmmm. i'm interested. can you tell us how fast this thing really is?

I mean, does it really make *that* big of a difference? (I know its fast, just wanna know how fast)

I use a program that caches to disk quite a lot, and think this might help....

No custom duty on parts? strange

keep think how fast your current drive is and how you wait for things to open, image a pc that react instantly. You won't understand how fast an SSD is until you load windows on it and see the power.

Look at this review, quite nice. This is one of the fastest SSD Drives currently on the market, you dont really get better than this.

To give you an indication of how fast this really is, the access time on this drive is 0.13ms, where a normal 7200RMP HDD is between 14-20ms. Thats 107 faster access time than a normal HDD. The Read / Write speed is almost tripple. :)

I know :) I was first told by WantItAll that I will pay 10% custom duty on the laptop I imported, but after phoning customs they told me that there is no custom duty on Computers / Laptops. When it arrived, I only paid 14% VAT. Cool huh.

The price is quite good as well if you consider what a 128GB SSD drive costs in South Africa. You can buy one from Cyberdyne for over R5000, and then it's not nearly as fast as this one... I think it's a good investment :) Should have it by next week Friday.

Really glad to see SSD's are slowly entering the market with more realistic prices. Hoping in a years time you can get something similar for around R1500.
