Ok so I'm now torn between these two...

I've already owned the Note 3 and loved it... Had a G2, loved it too...

I've got a G3 lined up and I'll be looking for a Note tonight/tomorrow morning.

Don't mind either software and don't need the pen...

What's the best to go for and why? Price is more or leas the same

G3 is way way better, note 3 not that good anymore.

Depends what you want, but the Note 3 is better in almost every way. Especially the display.

The two answers above will be your punishment for asking.
:p

Yeah didn't even see the first one. :D How could someone be insane enough to think a G3 is better than a Note?

The Note is literally better in every single way. More RAM, better display, better built, better multitasking, speaker in a more reasonable position.

Etc.

Lol. Note 3 rubbish compared to G3. G3 is should be compared with Note 4!!

They have the same amount of RAM, a better processor on the G3, smaller screen but better resolution on the G3. On paper, the G3 is better but I'm hoping for someone that's had both to give me ideas

Used both a couple times and no comparison. G3 better in everything except the ADH from Samsung.
Camera, battery, speaker, screen all are way better. The G3 has the best battery from all phones I've used including Note 4 and Sony Z3.

Depends on which version. The G3 model first launched in SA had 16GB storage and 2GB RAM.

The G3's display has a higher resolution yes, but that's irrelevant since pixels are invisible on both. The colour and brightness of the LG sucks, it's worse than its predecessor. Every review complained about it and I have seen it for myself, as well as the font smoothing although that's a software issue, not sure if an update fixed it. The Note on the other hand had the best colour reproduction of any mobile device (as confirmed by Displaymate tests) until the S5 and Note 4 came out. Especially in sunlight the Note blows everything else out of the water.

Then there's battery life, the G3 is merely average (or below average) due to that huge resolution and overclocked CPU. Yes the Snapdragon 801 is exactly the same as the 800 just clocked higher. Check out the G3 thread here on MyBB. The Note 3 has a bigger battery that lasts longer and reports are that it's even better with Lollipop. Then for all of Touchwiz's uglyness, it has one feature that should be standard on every Android: Multi Window.

There's nothing wrong with the G3 (apart from maybe the display) , it's a great phone. But it's no Note.

That's partially because it doesn't compete with the Note, it competes with the S5, One M8 and Xperia Z2. LG makes a phablet too but that was never very popular.

When I initially pre ordered the G3 (didn't get it), it was the 32GB and therefore 3GB RAM

I'll see what I get at the end of the day... HTC One M8 GPE is now part of the list...

+1!

The G3's CPU suffers due to being underpowered yet having to push a QHD display, I wouldn't touch the G3 with a stick, the Note 3 is in a class of its own, the funny part is that the Note 3 despite being from late 2013, pretty much whipes the floor with most 2014 flagships (LG G3, S5, Xperia Z2/Z3, Htc One M8).

Glue

The LG G3 can't be compared to the Note 4, lol, it doesn't hold a candle to the Note 4, most of the 2015 flagships including the LG G4 (G3 successor) don't match up to the Note 4.

I have a Note 3 and love it:

Problems:
drops internet constantly (noticed in online gaming)
crashes programs once a while

The G3 has a kark display despite its QHD resolution. The Note 3 trumps it in every other way.
