Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can by a case and screen protector for my note 2? can't seem to find it at the mtn and Vodacom shops.

Thanks

I ordered off eBay last week. Nothing decent locally - yet.
Ordered a case and a vent mounted car dock. No screen protector though. Only the paranoid need those :D

Eish you guys. The screen is resistant to scratches but it is not scratch proof...no...?

HTC HD2, HTC Desire HD, S2, S3, Note 1 and Note 2. Not damaged any of my screens.
While I do take care of my devices I am not overly paranoid. Had keys land on the screen, dropped them sometimes, put them in my pocket with other stuff, etc... Never an issue. Screens stay perfect.

The screen protector was invented back in the early days of touch screens and you needed one then. Screen technology has advanced a lot since then and there is no longer a need for them. The marketing departments of companies that manufacturer these things will have you believe otherwise though.

This is where Apple is lightyears ahead of their competitors: accessories. Nothing available locally, not even at Samsung's own store in Canal Walk.

When you walk into IC, Dion Wired, etc the Apple accessories are everywhere and there is enough stock of everything. You want similar stuff for Android devices? Forget it ... not available.

Yeah it's true. You also pay an arm and a leg for the idevice accessories but at least you have the choice.

Still not good enough reason to get an iDevice.

Agree, but it is damn frustrating that an OEM like Samsung advertises and sells the hardware like there's no tomorrow but do nothing to help on the accessories side. They do have their own branded accessories but it comes months later.

Lets wait for the iphone 5 and see how long it takes shops to get new accessories.
The only reason the accessories all work for idevices is because they are almost identical to the device that was released 4 years ago!

note 2 cases

I have seen note 2 flip cases in 2 styles and many different colours at chinamall at the old makro in jhb south. the place was called jojo i think. R100 each. no protectors though.

i used the screen protector of the galaxy note 1, you have to cut it a bit but works well.

Vodacom Eastgate got book type cases and back cover cases today.
R399 and R259 respectively. Black and white options.

Ordered a Note 2 for me fiance. Also interested in book type covers.

Is there an official Note 2 thread?

You need to do some research, it's absolutely possible to scratch modern smartphone screens, sand being the biggest culprit. Even from daily use you create micro scratches, take a close look at your phone in strong sunlight and then tell us that you don't have any scratches. If you don't then you must be one of the most amazingly careful people ever.

I found the video from xda that explains: http://www.xda-developers.com/xda-tv-2/truth-about-gorilla-glass-drops-tests-composition-xda-developer-tv/
