I have had the phone for around 9 months now. It started with the moisture warning every few weeks. Now it randomly states that there's moisture daily and I can't charge the phone. Have tried everything and am sure it is not wet.

I have a wireless charger at home but it's slow and I need to charge in my vehicle or at work. I go through one and a half to 2 charges a day.

Now it's a battle to save battery, and can be stuck on the road with a flat battery.

Is there a way to disable it or is it fixable, or should I rather get rid of the phone?

Are you the original owner?

If its a cash or contract phone you can maybe send it in for repairs and see what they say?

Bought it from someone that upgraded, he just unboxed it. I can try and send it in but is it a common problem?

I had a similar issue with my Note 8, I took it to a Samsung service center myself and they fixed it under warranty. If you don't have the original proof of purchase of the phone then you will have to pay for the repairs

See if you can ask the original purchaser for their pop and get it fixed under warranty.
