Galaxy Note 4 or Xperia Z3

I currently have a Galaxy S5 and I'm due for an upgrade. I was looking at getting the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus but Vodacom has no stock of the 64GB so considering these two. The Note 4 is very similar to the touchwiz on the S5 so will it feel much different than what I currently have, also leaning this way because of the 32GB onboard. My son likes the Z3 because you can play PS4 on it and i enjoy the waterproof side since it makes it so easy to clean your phone. The FM radio is an added bonus but the lack of IR port is a bit of a negative. So which one should I go for, or just wait for stock of the iPhone 6.
 
personal opinion, go for the LG G3.

the main reason to go samsung is the ADH. its a massive Bonus. the ADH on the Note 4 is shocking. touchwiz annoys me to no end, hence the root on all devices.

the waterproof on the Z3 is cute, but I feel the display over saturates the white on all sony models, so in my opinion I would shy away.

the iPhones are simply put too over priced. the same contract would be between R50 and R100 less if you choose not iPhone. add to that dealing with itunes, and all the slep involved in that, not worth the hassle.

some background quick. my brother has the G3. I have an s4, my SO has an xperia Z. one guy in the office got his iPhone 6 a few weeks ago. and my SO's dad has the S5 and her brother just got the note 4 (last week I have not played with it yet)

the G3 is miles ahead of the S5 and the iPhone 6. simply on processing power, reaction time of the screen, quality of the photos. the G3 is the best phone.

until the new nexus becomes an option the G3 will be the front runner in my opinion. nothing against any of the other phones though. just after handling all of them, and doing the same tasks on all the phones, the G3 feels better. its like comparing the S4 with the S2 (its the jump I made) the gap is that big.

G3 has an awful battery.

I just picked up my Z3 today and it lets you adjust the white balance.

The screen is amazing btw.
 
I switched from a Note 2 to a Z3 recently. Love the Z3.

I would not say the G3 has an awful battery life , I constantly get around 6 to 6 and a half hours screen on time . There was also an update released a while back that improved the battery life , so while it might not be the best I think saying it is awful is a bit much .

As for the OP's question ,personally I would go for the Note 4 , you get one Free Screen replacement via ADH as well on the Note 4 . Another plus is that in my experience the Samsung's Customer service is way better than Sony's . I had a Sony Z1 which had the dreaded Touch screen issue with it always requiring a reboot because it would not register correctly (it even failed its own on screen diagnostics test on the device) and to get a credit took Sony close on 3 weeks with me eventually having to threaten posting a video on you tube . My brother in law had exactly the same issue with his .

What it comes down to though is which phone you personally prefer , maybe stop by Vodacom and play with both devices and feel which one feels better in hand with use .

I was not comparing them at all really , the Z3 is a much better device there is no argument there (vs the Z1) , I was rather trying to show that the Sony Customer Service on a whole is not great in SA and leaves much to be desired . I have no doubt the Z3 is a great device ,but if you do not have the Customer service to back up your device should something go wrong then ultimately you are going to have a lot of very unhappy Customers .

Samsung on a whole has much better Customer service in SA as does LG . As I said though what it all boils down to is personal preference at the end of the day . There is no right or wrong .
 
Well I did consider the Note 4 actually this time around. Just too many small things like the speaker being at the back of the device put me off it.

hence why I now own a Z3 :D

Sound quality is way ahead of the S4 I was using.
 
Had a Z2, its basically the same as the Z3.

The phone got water damaged, had the option to go Z3 but went for Note4 instead. Best decision ever. More features/functions and display

Lol, Note 2 got water damaged recently so I went Z3. Not planning on submerging it though.
 
Would not touch the Z3,basically just a revision of the Z2 which sucked anyway!!
Should have called it a Z2s!!

I think it's awesome. Had a Note 2. This is better.
 
Yip better than note 2,but can't really compare a 2 year old phone with it.
 
Note is: Too big. Stylus is useless. Bloatware. Not waterproof. No dedicated camera button. Etc.

Why do you wanna hear a camera when it's on the table?
Did I miss something with the Z3 only having camera on the front
