Galaxy Note 4 or Xperia Z3

Note 4 speaker being at the back hasn't been a problem in my experience, just like the S2, S3 and S4, I use my Note 4 for my morning alarm and I hear it loud and clear, with it lying flat on my bedside table, even when I put it on the armrest of a couch its fine.

Anyway, Note 4 vs. Z3, not even going to bother, will sit back and be entertained by what has and will be posted here. :D

So seems some shops still have stock of the iPhone 6 Plus 64GB. I'm starting to seriously consider going back to iOS. Thanks for the opinions.

Touchwizz is crap.

Try at least use a proper Andorid skin before going back to ios.

Sony and HTC has the best Android interfaces at the moment.

I've used lots of different launchers and a few custom roms but always revert back to stock. So I have experience with vanilla android and even tried the Sony UI and Sense. Thing is I had an S2 and used to fiddle with it constantly, then went to an iPhone 5 and was forced not to fiddle. Decided to get the S5 because I wanted a bigger screen and more customisation options but I seem to have outgrown the need to fiddle. All the problems I used to have with iOS, like no bluetooth sharing, no widgets, iTunes, no mass storage, no themes, seem to not matter now. I just want a phone that can use apps, change wallpaper, play music and videos, and has a nice UI and screen size. The iPhone 6 Plus seems to be able to do that.

The Z3 can do that stuff too.

Without the stupid price tag.

Ok but my main problem with the Z3 is the same problem I have with my S5 which is 16GB onboard. After loading a few 1GB games you have to start deleting because the memory fills up.

On the S5 you can move a lot of the apps to the sd card.

Well with the Z3 you can pop in a Micro SD card.

You can't with the iPhone.

That's the reason why I wanna go for the 64GB iPhone. On the SD card issue, most of the apps that can be moved are the smaller ones and they don't make much difference. Games like FIFA, Injustice and Minecraft with all its maps can't really be moved as they still take up a huge amount of data onboard. I have a 32GB SD card in my S5 and the main thing I can use it for is music and videos.

I wish games were still 1GB.

I love the Sony phones, they look gorgeous, are waterproof and perform like mofos. But that 16GB (actually only 11.5 useable) killed it for me in the end. That's why I ended up taking a Note 4 with UltraCrap(TM) rear-firing speaker. Yes, it really is terrible compared to other modern phones, don't let the fanbois fool you. Great phone in every other aspect though.

And yes, even on the Note 4, you can't move the worst offenders to SD - they stay on your onboard memory. But at least there's a somewhat-less-pathetic 32GB of it.

Problem:

Most games keep the bulk of their game data on Internal and if I am not mistaken Samsung remain the only OEM who allow you to move apps/games to MicroSD in Android KitKat and even then not all of them allow that.

You know the fact that the Z3 and S5 have a paltry 16GB Internal mem slipped my mind completely, I havent owned a phone with less than 32GB Internal since the Galaxy S2. My Galaxy S3 and S4 were both 32GB variants, and obviously so is my Note 4, I cant imagine buying a top end smartphone in 2014 with less than 32GB, just does not make sense at all, MicroSD Slot or Not.

If you want the iPhone I'd say go for it, you seem to be happy with iOS, and if you are mainly into mobile gaming I simply can't fault iOS, I use my iPad 4 for mobile gaming and have thoroughly enjoyed it (mainly Asphalt 8, Real Racing and GT Racing here).

If you want Android, grab a Note 4 and enjoy, loving mine, but try it 1st, the size is not for everyone.

There are actually 32GB versions of the Z3 as well, SA just never gets them.
