That's unexpected.
My guess is that the SIM card check on first boot may be much more assertive than we thought.
If I may ask, why did you choose BTU over one of the other local CSC versions? OTA frequency?

I was originally on vodacom. And saw that xfa had the dec patch so just jumped the vodacom ship. Hopefully it gets oreo first too

Sammobile, N950f, then under country south africa choose South Africa xfe. Then go recent update still shows old undated
Then once downloaded use odin. And then once flashed the jan update should come thru afterwards
