Galaxy Note 8

Is anyone able to play YouTube videos in 1440P HDR 60FPS??? Seems this function has been disabled.

I can play normal 1440P@60FPS, but when it comes to HDR it only goes up to 1080P HDR 60FPS, which is odd.

Black Notifications.?
Any member interested in sporting a black notification bar /Settings, on device.?

I've been using "Power Shade: Notification Bar Changer & Manager" app( paid version ) for past 14 / 20 days. Really happy with the smoothness and custom options of the app .
No root needed , no Substatum app .etc.
Straight forward install.
Previously been using app called "Material Notification Shade" but it stopped working on Android 8.0

Wow! That is a lot of phone for that sort of money huge bargain.

I wonder if it will not cannibalise Note9 sales, because the next question the "average buyer" will ask is, why is the 9 almost double the price per month for what seems to be the same thing. For people who don't look at specs as closely as we do, the Note8 now looks like it makes more sense to buy.

100%. That looks like a stellar deal.
 
Well...I took that MTN deal. Just confirmed that the application has been approved and the phone is on it's way. They only had two phones left in stock... :sneaky:

My Note 4 is on it's last legs due to the eMMC error. It's a pity as it is such an awesome phone, and even after more than 3 years, I'm still amazed at how well it still performs compared to new phones. But, it was time to upgrade...and at this point I just cannot justify the extra cost for the Note 9 in my particular situation. This deal for R499 came at just the right time.

Hopefully the Note 8 will last me another 3 to 4 years, and then I'll get the Note 18, or whatever it is at the moment. :D:D
 
Hi Guys , iv been offered a 3 week old Mint Note 8 at R6000 from a collegue as they have gone for a Note 9 . Been a while since I have used a Samsung , would you say R6000 is a good price for a 3 week old Note 8 in mint condition with all accessories still sealed etc ?

Thanks, that looks like an interesting app and even the pro version is quite cheap.

It’s a bit light on instructions though ;).

Good Lock does this and its free from Samsung.

If you unsure of something, you can ask me. I've been using it for quite a while now . I might know?
Also have discussed an issue or 2, with the dev of app. (Adguard app and Always on, quick setting tiles ) He most likely will fix the issue.
One thing to note, is in Power Shade app settings /Extras section.
You can set it to override (on or off) system tiles etc.
I like the fact that you can directly "enable /switch" data (tile) on.
Very few apps, i know can do that.
 
Before careful of buying phones from people that is still on contract.
I bought a Sealed Note 8 from someone last year. Last week it got Blacklisted because the person defaulted on paying the contract.

Expensive paperweight I have here.

Great choice :)

The Note 4 eMMC issue gets worse overtime, my Note 4 does not even boot up anymore.

Note8 should serve you well, had mine since launch last year and still thoroughly enjoying it.

Thanks, being going through the setting by trial and error and got most things working (I think). I’ll let you know if I get stuck with anything.
