Galaxy Note 8

Flashed my XFA Note 8 to XFE and noticed that VOLTE has been activated on MTN network. Wondering if it is the XFE firmware or did MTN finally activate this for the Note 8 on their network.

A problem we have been having the last few days, is that whenever the Note 8 my wife is using tries to connect to our home WiFi Network, she gets an "authentication error" and we need to forget the network, then reconnect to the network.

The only thing that has changed is that we got Fibre, and as a result a new WiFi Router.

She had no issues connecting to the previous router, a Zyxel VMG1312-B10D, but since the new D-Link
DSL-G2562DG router, she is struggling to connect.

Has anyone had any similar issues, or a possible solution?

Update available for XFA. Downloading 1.9GB update at the moment.

We're still having issues with the Note 8 not connecting, and giving "network authentication error" and it doesn't accept the WiFi password.

Any advice please?

Perhaps login to the router and look at the WiFi settings. With 802.11 there are many flavours and options and sometimes there can be a clash. If you are not streaming 4k movies to your phone then try some simpler settings. Take a photo/scree capture before and then try the following:
Control Channel: Auto
Channel bandwidth : 20Mhz this recommended for best compatibility across many devices.
Wireless Mode : Auto
Roaming assistant : if this on your router disable it as a test. This force disconnects you at low WiFi signal
2.4GHZ/5GHZ : If you have both on the router then assign a different name to each frequency if possible and try connect to each. If you can't then disable 1 frequency at a time and test.

Also do you have the latest firmware:ftp://ftp.d-link.co.za/DSL/DSL-G2562DG (Telkom)/firmware/

Also if you have more than 1 router then the security and ecryption details must be the same exactly like Authentication Method, WPA Encryption, WPA Pre-Shared Key and Group Key Rotation Interval. I had issue when 2 routers were slighty different using the same WiFi name.

Security settings: WPA2-Personal/AES/3600 rotation interval

This might not be a Note 8 issue but here goes anyway:
I often get incoming work calls from colleagues and when I answer I can't hear them. The call timer is counting so I have answered the phone but no sound. If they call me straight back again or I call them then the call is successful. On MTN with XFA update. Have tried with VoLTE on or off and no change. Calls with issues are from Telkom Mobile or Neotel.

We have had the same issue, but on various phones, and on CellC.
Phones I recall that happening on, are the last few generations of Samsungs.
Note 5, S6, S8+, Note 8, S9+.
It hasn't happened with the new S10e yet, but then I have only had it 2 days, and received few calls.

I also experience this on Mtn with my Note9. I thought that it had something to do with Volte. I haven't tested it though.
