Hi Folks,

With the Note20 due to be released sometime very soon, I am starting to think that an upgrade to the Note 10 Lite is a good move.Ii have been using the Note5 since it came out so am pretty well overdue for an "upgrade" AND I have an itch.....

This will be a contract upgrade and not a outright cash buy.

My thinking is that the prices/monthly handset installments of the Note20 will be a fair bit more than the Note10 currently.

NOW, to those using the Note10 lite -

Have you been and are you still happy?
What issues has anybody had which would persuade me not to get one?

I’ve only seen them on 3 year contracts so keep an eye out for that, a phone I was looking for went down 2 grand in its cash price while the effective contract price went up 10 grand.

It was 750pm over 2 years and the cheaper 2 year option moved up to like 1250 or something like that.

Contract prices have gone to complete **** since COVID allowed companies to heavily invest in vassaline.

Ironically, if one calculates the handset cost over the contract period vs the cash purchase price, the financial saving is in the contract offering. That is if one is happy to be contractually bound. Add the "value" of the smartwatch they are "throwing" in and the deal is mathematically one to consider.

Saw a headline speculating that the Note 20 may be launched cheaper than the Note 10,so maybe factor that in too

Thanks, jip spotted that as well. The concern is that when it lands here what will the situation be exchange rate wise and how our beloved networks deal with it.....

That’s what I did, at the 24m price of R750 it was cheaper than the cash price by about a grand for the OnePlus, a week later the new deal sheet comes out, cash price drops 2 grand contract price goes up 10 grand. So now it’s 16k cash and 28k on contract. The cheapest was 23k over 3 years.

NAF am I signing a 3 year contract.

3yrs does not bother me. I dislike "upgrading," so generally only upgrade if there is a specific reason like now. I have had this handset for 4.5yrs and the battery is getting a bit lazy now, so have pulled the trigger and now wait for Vodacom to deliver. Previous handset was something like +5yrs old when i got the Note 5 I have now.

Seems like for outside USA and Korea, Samsung will be still be using the same same disappointing Exynos 990 processor in the Note 20 as in the S20 series.

It's ridiculous that they get away with pricing it the same or even more expensive than the Snapdragon 865 version. Even some last generation SD 855 phones outperform the Exynos S20 series.

I’ve never kept a phone that long, my current phone at 21 months is the longest I have ever kept a phone, I have had easily over 50 phones in the last 18 years.

Biggest challenge I have these days is finding on that fits in my pocket, I took the 11pro over the 11 which is notably cheaper for no other reason than it was smaller. I cannot stand phones that reviewer a backpack to carry around.

I took the R749 X36 deal with Vodacom for the Note 10+ and finally I have a phone that is big in size (6.8") and onboard storage (256GB) which is more than enough for me, I can even expand this with a memory card (up to 1TB) if I wish. All my apps and games run smoothly (12GB RAM) the S-pen works beautifully, camera and screen quality is amazing, it is definitely a bargain for the price. The 4300 mAh battery last me a whole day. Downside is that is does not come with a super fast charger like the Note 10 lite, and no headphone jack, but the Samsung buds and the AKG C-type headphones make up for it and sound quality is brilliant. This is a phone that can last 4 years plus technology wise and I am more than happy to recommend it to anyone.

Thank you, just what I was hoping to hear. My Note5 ha been brilliant, save for having to manage its storage and now the battery requires a bit if management. I have just ordered the 10 lite on the 749 x 36 deal.

I have the Note 10 Lite , great phone , fingerprint is a bit of a issue , but that is apparently same on the S10 and other note 10 's .
I read that it is much better with the June update. I haven't updated yet. Phone rooted so no push updates .

Strange, my dual SIM note10+ came with a fast charger. Any other charger struggles to charge the phone at all.

Just a heads up in anybody in thinking of getting either of the Note 10 devices. Stocks seem to be running low.

I got my son a Note 10 Lite for his birthday. Great phone but it doesn't have wireless charging :(
