Hey all.

just wondering if any of you know where I can get the scratches out of my screen? Not deep ones, but can be seen in the sun. two places said I have to replace the whole screen? wtf? Was thinking of taking it to a watch repair place and asking them to buff it, but wonder if it will mess with the touchscreen.

any ideas?

I don't think you can, you really should get screen protectors for your phone. Most phones are susceptible to these micro scratches, as long as you can't see it under normal conditions you'll have to live with it.

Welcome to the world of screen protectors....

I had the same problem with my Sony Xperia Play, so use to my original Desire and DHD not scratching that I did not thing twice about keeping phone and car keys in the same pocket.

You have 2 options, look for screens online and replace it yourself, or pay about half the phones price and get them to replace it for you. I opted for the, "aaah I can live with it approach."

Shouldn't Gorilla glass protect the screen against every day scratches? I got my first phone with Gorilla glass about a month ago, and so far I have no scratches, but after reading this I'm thinking about getting myself one last Christmas present ;)

Yes it does, but that is why both Inn3rs3lf's Galaxy note and my Xperia Play screens got scratched, they dont have Gorilla Glass.

Hmmm after reading that XDA thread it seems the Nexus and the Note are using the same Glass....

/me "scratches" Nexus off the maybe list.

Gorilla glass doesn't prevent these micro scratches, my Galaxy S had the same scratches after a month without a screen protector.

I never had any problems with my Desire or Desire HD.... and 2 years of abuse with no protection tells me, its the glass they used.

I read on xda forums that its the oleophobic layer on the screen that gets scratched and not the aap glas itself....but anyway I got my Martin Fields screen protector today for my sgs2 from expansys and replaced temp cheapie.brilliant. Its like its not even there.very happy

I was looking at the Martin fields......late now though. Lol. Ag its tiny scratches so I will just live with it. Not paying for grand for non scratched screen. Can't even find the bloody things after googling and ebay......and ebay has everything under the sun.

No need for screen protectors. Just grab a nice leather pouch from expansys. No scratches on any of my phones at all. They are well protected and when i use my SGS2 its in its true form.

There are some nice Note pouches on expansys

lol, my phone actually came with the fold pouch. similar to the smart cover for the ipad. Something got between it and the screen.

I used to use Braso to get rid of the small scratches but haven't done so on a touch screen device yet.

You get stuff that you spray on a motorcycle helmet visor to buff out tiny scratches with a cloth.*apparently* it works just as well on cell screens.any bike shop should have it.
