So today I was using Airdroid to transfer some files from my office pc to phone and left handset in my drawer.

Got back to my office to see a network error on the airdroid interface.

Logged Out.

Checked my handset and all my photos and music is missing.

Notification that states SD Card was unexpectedly removed and reminded me to always unmount before I eject the SD Card.

Since then I restarted phone, removed sd card reinserted and restarted numerous times and combinations of sd card in and out.

It seems my phone is no longer recognizing the sd card.

Can any of you guys point me in the direction of a solution?

Test it in your PC to see if the card is dead.

I have a 32GB ADATA card that is also dismounting at random. It is a faulty card in my case - replaced the card and its working fine since. (formatted and retested the old card and it continues to do so).

I tried to replicate the problem in windows but was unable to do so.

I've never had any problems with Sandisk SD cards in my phones.

You get what you pay for.

I've had this issue on my HTC Desire S...
Due for an upgrade so not too worried though :)

My card is dead in computer also.

It wont even bring up the card reader when I insert the dead card.

I have tried it in the old BB Curve also no luck. I have read on other forums that the samsung are killing some sandisk and trancend sd cards when you transfer larger files to it. I was copying in airdroid (a few movies) when it occurred.

I am trying to get a replacement from the supplier now. See if I get anywhere with it.

Maybe I will just have to source a Kingston or Samsung card. The guys on XDA and android forums say the brandname cards are better quality and other cases guys have had 2-3 cards killed and since going onto better brands no problems.

Dont know what to do... guess Ill just settle for replacement and see how it goes.

I've been using the class 4 32GB cards since last year and never had any issues.

Won't waste money on an ultra SD card in my S2....maybe in a much faster phone, like the HTC One*. :p

*Spot the deliberate mistake.
/I smell a ninja edit in your post :p

Ever heard the afr expression "een swaeltjie maak dit nie somer nie"?

You know living in East London I hear rich folk complaining about how there is absolutely no customer service or business ethic in our town.

I promise you I have not known what customer service is until I moved here.

Compusys just delivered my replacement SD Card. 23km away from their offices for a R220.00 replacement. Cost to me R0.00. Faith in local business kept alive Priceless.

That....is pretty awesome.

Restored my faith in the human race again. :)

No.

But there is an Afrikaans saying "een swaeltjie maak nie 'n somer nie".

That I have heard before. ;)

Just an update here... if anyone has had similar situations please share...

My Note 2 has killed 7 sd cards all and all now. 3 new 32gb. One apacer, one sandisk and one kingston. 4 older sandisk 16gb, the sd dock and the sd itself cooked. No function after incident.
