My S2 was put through part of a washing cycle for about 10 minutes before I saved it. The amazing part is that the only evident damage was the power button not working anymore. Maybe it's because the washing machine is a Samsung as well...?

Did you leave it out to dry for a while?
@ Slootvreter - submerged, I fished it from the very bottom of the toploader. It was in cargo pants pocket.
@ ajax - Left it in the sun for rest of Saturday and whole of Sunday. Battery back in on Sunday evening and it powered up - everything worked, except for the power button. PS. It was nothing to ROFL about then... ;-)

I had an old HTC that fell into a bird pond (true story 
), fished it out, removed battery and let it dry for two days. It worked again, but little things started to fail through the rest of the month, like the keypad backlight, microphone, camera, etc etc
Something interesting you might not have known.......
Submerge the phone only in benzine....... Take the water out and leaving it in the sun the benzine evaporates..... It does make the plastic a bit dull but will also prevent rust later on. Done it many times with phone works well.

I have had a few phones go through the washing machine .. unfortunatly they did not survive the clean
You should only use Skip liquid detergent.
Omo liquid detergent is not so good.

They are the same thing. There a few minor changes like colour and smell, but other than that it is the same thing. And it is same for the powder. Omo is supposed the be propositioned at lower end of the lsm market.

Wait, if the power button didn't work... Doesn't that mean the phone's dead?:erm:
Maybe i should use skip next time i clean my phone. Thank for the advice
