Probably the most annoying thing ever, especially for my line of work since I make and receive calls regularly. Every so often while my phone is idle and almost always when I try to browse the web, make a call or chat on an IM, my signal cuts out completely. It shows the "No Smoking Sign" for a few seconds, flashes the screen to enter my pin and then proceeds to regain signal and an internet connection - rinse and repeat 5 or 6 times - until it is eventually stable. This happens less often with Mobile Network disabled. Vodacom advised that my SIM card is okay.
Any thoughts? or should I just take it in for repair?

My S3 kept losing signal because of the phone cover I had on. I took it off and the signal improved although where I work, cellphone signal is pathetic in any case. If you have a cover, try something thinner. If you have no cover, it is potentially a phone fault. See if you can replicate the problem in another area. Otherwise, your best bet is the repair centre. Goodluck! Hope it is just the area!
