Thanks for this feedback. Think I am going to head over to Cell C.

I didn't flash firmware on my unit, but I did do factory resets and a few short codes trying to check camera firmware and what not. Couldn't get it to work properly.
 
Took it back to Cell C now and they swapped it out for me. :) Let's see how this one goes as I set it up now.
 
That happened a couple of times on my Nexus 4. A restart sorted it out though.

Was Nova launcher causing the phone to restart, after deleting it no more problems with camera.

I have same problem since the update. Is it possible to go back to previous version without rooting?
 
Guys go to developer options and choose to limit active processes, mine did the same and that fixed it.
Plenty people complaining about it on Xda and it seems to be a bug with the latest update.
Should be fixed with the next update but in the meantime this helps.
Also after doing this the camera opens way faster.

Nothing wrong with the phone, just a software bug.
Still the most awesome phone ever.
This weekend played poker with 3 friends on group play and it was crazy fun.

Unfortunately the phone I had wasn't just software. :(

At least I don't think it was.

That's the default selection, what did you change it to?

Mine is working great. :) No complaints. I experienced the "camera restarts the operating system" bug twice, but other than that I am very happy with the handset.
 
What irritates me is that there is an update out but not released locally yet...
