Hi all

I have a 2 month old S4 Mini and for the past few weeks the screen has been playing up.

Sometimes from lockscreen the swipe does not activate, it just doesn't register my finger moving over the screen. If I wait a few minutes it eventually works.
Other times the screen behaves as though I am tapping and swiping in various areas of the screen at the same time, so numerous icons are simultaneously pushed, the screen scrolls from page to page and everything generally goes beserk.
A battery pull sorts the problem out but its now happening frequently IE 2 - 3 times a week so I'd like to have it rectified.

Is there a setting I should disable/enable? Could it be an app which is causing this?

The phone is in a sturdy cover and has never been dropped.

Thanks

It could be an app, did you download anything dodgy?

Not that I can think of. Im cautious of what I put on this phone as I am not a big app user. A few games, IMDB, News24, Facebook.
I also have mammal and reptile apps, sport score apps etc. Perhaps one of these is conflicting?

Do you have a screen protector on it? I've seen similar symptoms with a tablet once, and replacing the screen protector did it for me.

I do have a Body Glove screen protector which came with the cover. I am reluctant to take it off because the phone was fine with the protector on for over a month, and it has done its job as far as stopping the scratches.
I hope to try all other options before going that route.

I love everything abouth the phone except the poor design and built quality. I had this phone for about three months with no issues until it fell off my lap and the screen cracked. Im also using the genuine Samsung Protective Cover as I am prone to dropping my phone often, but surpisingly it was not not enough protection for a small drop of about 50cm. The S4 Mini is also not covered by Samsung's ADH (Accidental Damage from Handling) warranty. To have the screen repaired is just too expensive at about half the price of the phone itself.

I really am not sure what to do next, just pay to have it fixed, and risk the same thing happen again, replace it with something else, but what what? I like the fact that the S4 is covered by the ADH warranty, but I dont want such a big phone. Does anyone have any recomendations?

All i can suggest is that when you get a new phone you should insure it :-)

OP should take the phone back to service provider and book it in for repairs.

If the phone is faulty, Samsung will give you a new one.
