Galaxy Tab 10.1" w/Kang Mod - Camera issue

I have rooted my Galaxy Tab 10.1", 3G, Model P7500, installed Clockwork recovery mod (paid app). I downloaded and installed the the Kang Mod using the Clockwork mod utility. I initially made a backup of the original Sumasung supplied ROM. Don't ask me how but I deleted the Samsung Rom. I have redownloaded and flashed the tab several different Kang Galaxy Tab 10.1" ROMS (supposedly with 3G support) and still I can't get 3G working. Priority is 3G working again, second is camera.

Problems:
3G and camera not recognised. I am aware that Cynogen/Kang mods do not support camera at the moment. I need a link to download (modified) ROM that supports 3G.

What have I tried:
1. Backed up and flashed several different Roms, none seem to support 3G. I have MTN Uncapped Lite. I can live without the camera since I have the Galaxy S3 phone.
2. Managed to get hold of another Galaxy Tab P7500 w/3G. Rooted and backed up it's original ROM, copied this ROM to my tab, executed a ROM restore however I get eror: MD5 mismatch. ROM file sizes was identical between original and copied version and MD5 sum checked when creating the backup.

Goal:
* Restore the Tab with an original Samsung Rom or a Rom with 3G support.
* Looking for web link with a functioning copy of the orginal Galaxy tab 10.1" ROM, or functioning mod with 3G support.

probably its not the rom, you must find the correct "modem" and flash that onto the device, it should then work...
Finding the original firmware might be tricky, as the guys who do this sort of thing are usually overseas and thus a backup of the south african firmwares arnt really available. Getting original from another MTN tablet would be your best bet, perhaps look at different recovery modes, use the NAND backup in Clock work recovery and restore that on yours.

How is this Jelly Bean Rom? does everything work? Camera front and back, wifi, 3G? any other problems?
 
If it's like the Galaxy S3, don't expect the camera to work with flash first time. Works fine in the second shot but sort of spoils moment.
 
Jelly Bean is amazing. It turns the 10.1 from the slug it usually is with the stock rom to a buttery smooth tablet... It is so swish it'll make apple fanbois cry.

Front and back camera work. 3G works. Everything is great!

Only "issue" is the screen flickers sometimes during the lock animation. (That 0.2 second fade out). Other than that I haven't had any problems.

Some people say their google talk video doesn't work, but my one works fine.

Hi there,
I downloaded the build from here but still can't get the 3G modem to be recognised. Thank goodness the camera is working again, progress. Would you please provide me with the link to the exact .zip image file I need to get the modem working as well.

On another note.. Here is what I tried (and still couldn't get modem working. Might it just be a case of using the wrong image file ? I noticed that that there was two .MD5 files, modem.MD5 and another I can't remember the name. I made a backup of my current Android image, then copied the modem.md5 and other .md5 file to the folder containing the backup image becasue I noced that when doing the machine ckecks MD5 sums.

What is the difference between the following images: P4, P4TMO, P4Vzw, P4 Wifi. I assume the last one is the wifi only version of the Galaxy tab.

I used the following steps to replace the system image:
1. Backup current system image using (Clockwork) Rom Manager.
2. Copied P4 nightly build to (clockwork) ROM manager's downloads folder.
3. Installed P4 build using the Rom manager.
4. Booted into clockwork mod, I am presented with familiar Android welcome screen and the ability to set up wifi. I dont see any notice of missing SIM card etc.

Would you please direct me to a web link that contains the build that allows camera and 3G to function ? If seperate steps are involved to get the 3G to work, please show me the way.

p4 is the 3G Galaxy Tab 10.1, also known as the GT-7500

You need to flash the latest ODIN to the tablet to read the image file properly. We use the UK English version, which must be used for a galaxy tab 10.1 3G bought in South Africa.

1) First you need to make a backup of your device.

2) Then you need to copy the ROM file to the main directory of the tablet, also GApps, Flash Player and the modem file.

3) You then need to boot the tablet into clockwork recovery

4) You need to perform a wipe of the tablet

5) You need to delete the cahce and the dvalk cache

6) You need to install the ROM through clockwork recovery. NOT AN APP ON THE TABLET.

7) You need to install the modem

8) Install GApps and flash player

9) Tell CWR to restart the tablet.

Thanks foryour excellent guide, initially I was confused on how to get the MD5 files installed. I eventually figured out that I needed to use Odin to 'flash" the MD5 files to the Galaxy Tab.

For those that do not know what to do. Remember to first root the tab or you will waste your time.
Follow agentrfr's steps until 6. One install the modem.md5 file in the same method as one would to root the Galaxy tab.
* Backup all your apps with any of the free app backup/restore apps from Play market.
* Remember to use the latest version of Odin.
* Flash/install the modem.md5 file using Odin. Your galaxy tab must be in 'Download mode'. Ensure your tablet is in USB debugging mode. Launch Odin from Windows. Connect the tab, wait for drivers to install, once completed Odin will have a box on top left with a COM39 (or similair COM) and be yellow. That means the tab has been detected and ready to be flashed. When in Odin select "PDA", click PDA , browse to the location of the modem.md5 file, and select Ok. Flashing should take about 3-5 seconds and you should get a 1/1 of completed message. Disconnect the tab and restart the tab. Modem/3G should now work perfectly.
* Install gapps from within the clockwork mod recovery mode. I prefer downloading gapps before you flash/formatting the tablet.

I didnt include that because I figured most people have flashed before.
