Galaxy Tab Available Yet??

Arches 10 is inferior.

yes. thank you for that comprehensive answer clearly illuminating the differences between the 10" archos tablet and the 7" samsung tablet. we now completely understand how you came to your objective opinion. what would we do without people like you on the internet.

Check the link, u sarcastic twat

buddy, if you edit your post afterwards with a link and then expect people to believe i'm the idiot, then kudos to you.

What i'm trying to get at is that at 3" larger AND $200 cheaper, the archos is valid option. If you are even the tiniest little bit android proficient you can easily get around the market thing, and have full access to all apps.

Screw Gizmodo and Engadget. They are totally useless when it comes to reviewing a product.

Their so-called "review" of the Nokia N8 has made me not going back to them ever again.

Samsung Galaxy S: Lagfix needed for moderate use... GPS not working... Not the full 512MB RAM... Apple gave free cases to fix the antenna problem, whilst we got...? Ummm.
I could actually relate to the browser problem they are talking about, the forums on XDA had to wipe up a lag fix for it as well.

although I dont dispute what yousay. I personally have had no lag whatsoever. Gps sucks tho. Wont lie. But I do have a dedicated device for that. either way. Im def getting a tab. Not even thinking about it.

Cell C also now has officially got stock, once again, only in Jo Burg

i played with it for an hour last week, i liked it especially the weight compared to the iPad however the plastic-look/feel and the screen size is let down for me

Just picked up one from Vodacom in Gateway.
gonna go play now, will report back

Awesome. Did you pay cash or contract? Either way, how much? cant wait to get this beast!

Got it as an upgrade, R175/month added on my 500meg Data contract.Vodacom.
Really is a great size, very fast running the appz, screen is awesome, clear and bright, put a mkv file on, and it worked with no probs.
touch sensitivity is also great, battery life is good, i used it for about 5 hours and i was only on half usage.
**** thing now is trying to get decent accessories for it, , like a cover, and such, i also see the screen is made from the gorilla glass , so it is pretty scratch resistant.
Also it is definitely a capacitive screen.
Overall really nice piece of kit.

Connected to my wifi no problems.

The samsung Kies software, needs a little work and getting used to......the sync software.
Also it uses the epub format for the built in ereader, really looks awesome.

That's right, i thought it was a good deal.
All the vodacom sales people were hanging around until i opened it to check contents.
Lol, can you believe they hadn't seen one until then..........No training, ridiculous,

I would like to play around with one to see how it is..before I buy it
does anyone know any store in sandton that will allow me to do this?

The Android tablets will only start flourishing with the Gingerbread update (2.3), cos 2.3 will support higher screen resolutions (rumoured).

I feel Samsung jumped the gun a leetle bit, cos everything you see on the Tab, is basically a 480X800 screen res pumped up to fit a 7'' display. It works well, but I would like a higher resolution on such a device.

The screen is 1024x600 which is pretty good. it is also 16:9 rather than the 4:3 as on the iPad

Engadget and Geek.com both say the Galaxy Tab will be upgraded to 2.3 once it's released. Hope it's true.
