Hi all

I need some help.

I have decided to finally get myself a new shiny, but am stuck as to which one.

Could I get some opinions from the members, as to which one they would choose, and why? Also if you wouldnt choose a Tab2 or a Note, what would your current pick be?

And no ipads, even thou I think they are pretty awesome, I just find them limited for me...

I have the Tab2. I'm totally in love with it. I'm guessing the Note is faster ,has a better screen, and costs more?
I think it comes down to what you're going to be using them for. If your just a casual user looking to browse the net, check emails and play games, get the Tab.

Also Note 10 sells for great price at the airport, saw it this weekend.
Will get more details.

Yeah, apparently it was going for R5500. I cant confirm this though.

Also in the same position. As mentioned above... It just depends on what you are going to use it for. The telkom deal currently on for the tab2 is great... Pity it only applies to businesses!

Awesome, I was leaning towards the Note.

thanks all for the replies :)

galaxy note 10.1... just got one for my sister. its really awesome. Esquire has it for a good price

There are rumours that Google is planning to introduce a Samsung-manufactured Nexus 10 tablet with greater pixel density than the retina iPad. Maybe wait for two days and see?

mmm the price I got it @ was about R5500 incl vat

Yip.
One @ international side sells for R5500 and one @ domestic is R5999.
But unless youre flying international it's not easy to buy from that side.

R5,500.00 + 14% VAT = R6,270.00. Given that the international side should be duty-free, the SA side is cheaper.

If you buy it on the international side of the airport, it's duty free. By tax law you have to then declare it when you enter the country and pay VAT on it. Plus import duties (if any). Unless it is part of your duty-free allocation.

Unless you are avoiding taxes, of course. Then yes, it is cheaper on that side of the airport.

You get the vat back when you leave, but will be pretty stupid to buy something, fly out and then pay customs when you return. Unless its under a certain amount i suppose.

Yes, but it's still tax evasion. Most of us do it, just pointing out WHY the international departures shops are so much cheaper.

Still the price at domestic for R5999 is cheap.
