The bandwidth is through IS, and its around R1200 for an uncapped 512k account... unshaped.

I'm wondering now, how good is that unshaped bandwidth (want to get something really nice for online games like WoW) and if anyone is using them at this stage?

Make sure you hover over the Uncapped Express ADSL - Interpreting the service link on their pricing page. The following is displayed:

This Business ADSL service has been developed mainly for the conservative business user who requires the assurance of an uninterrupted and fixed cost ADSL service. The Business ADSL Express service is a managed service, whereby the customers usage is monitored and recorded. The service is allocated a certain threshold for the month which is divided into a 10 day rolling window. If a customer reaches his 10 day threshold before the 10th day, his bandwidth will be halved (e.g. 512Kbps to 256Kbps 1MB to 512K). However, if his consumption is reduced, his bandwidth will be restored to the purchased level. This mechanism has been put in place in order to discourage abuse of the service and thereby giving the conservative business user a more superior service.

The thresholds are as follows:
512 = 30 Gig for 30 days which is divided in 3 segments of 10 Gig each. The usage is monitored over a 10 day rolling window period
1024 = 60 Gig for 30 days which is divided in 3 segments of 20 Gig each. The usage is monitored over a 10 day rolling window period.

This service is unshaped and no restrictions are placed on this service whatsoever eg P2P.A normal user name and password is provided for this service so clients may use there own routers.Only 1 concurrent connection is allowed on each user name and password, though unlimited people may be connected to this 1 concurrent connection.

Yes, thanks for that, it is a bit lame to call it uncapped, then have 'thresholds'. However, 30gig is not bad, and the price is competitive.

Crap crap crap.

I didn't see that until now. an i already signed up and got the account.

Blerry hell.

Acidrazor, you're willing to pay over a grand a month to play WoW? Are you facking insane?

Not just for Wow my friend. 30 gig UNSHAPED bandwidth... I want to know how unshaped this unshaped bandwidth is.... cause i dont believe them

30gig unshaped isn't worth 1/5 of that

EDIT: at least as far as I'm concerned.

Well i mailed em and enquired bout their hidden capping.

Their reply was that they check the accounts on the 10th an 20th of the month to check for overusers.

If you use more than 10gb before the 10th then your speed is halfed for the rest of the month.
If you use more than 20gb before the 20th then your speed is halfed for the rest of the month.

After that the halfing of your speed they dont do anything else.

Kinda sux.........rly sux

The ADD should be banned from the MyADSL website. False Advertising.

Its not Uncapped!.

Does that mean that if u go over on the 10th u get halved to 256 and the if u are over on the 20th u get that halved as well??

Scrap that, either way this offer really kinda sucks. Uncapped 512K my arse...

Throttled is not uncapped. Uncapped is the freedom to do as you wish, unshaped unlimited access etc. Throttled is basically saying, they are shaping the service once you abuse. if you abuse even more wile getting shaped, the shaping will be upped a bit more. No uncapped freedom there!.

Its uncapped in the sence that u still have access but you are throttled so yes i see your logic.
