Eish. The answer is "Probably more than you can afford", so neither of the answers will ever be known with 100% certainty.

What is the difference?

Pretty much everything, including subscription and licensing.
UDK basically in it's final iteration of Unreal Engine 3, won't be developed further.
It's free to download, and to develop on.

UE4 is subscription based, $20 a month but can stop that any time, develop your game and renew subscription at a later date.
It's much more flexible, has all the latest technologies and since it moved to C++ (from UScript), "open source" everyone has access to the actual engine code so 3rd party support has been massively improved.
For instance it finally bloody works on Linux.

But so has the PC requirements to develop, you can develop just about everything for any platform and make it run nicely, but you require quite the power house to actually use the development tools.

If you want to check it out, you can just download Unreal Tournament 4, or take out a months subscription.
It's pretty awesome, unfortunately I'm pretty much bandwidth constraint, otherwise I would of given it a go.

I only have a bit of experience with the UDK, since I modded a bit, but I', pretty rusty atm.

If i am correct....its one of 2 companies that do online gaming (read gambling). Either real or freemium... and They have lots of money.. so make sure you ask for what you want!
