game takes forever to install

lets say i have 15gigs free on my vista drive.The game i am installing requires 10 gigs.The dvd is a dvd9(9gig)I have started the install at 11am and its still going slowly.
Due you think the problem is that my swapfile ,cache..etc is causing this cause its now 3pm and i am only at 86%.

Well, could be all kinds of stuff. Do you have 128MB of RAM maybe? Just joking... Either way, it's not normal, maybe someone can shed some light. Some more info on specs ect. could help though.

what game because it depends on which game ur installing, some do take really long. when i installed Gears of War i went to the shop and i came back still wasn't done.

Doesn't the game need space to unpack it's install files as well?

Definitely need to free up some space due to what Juggy said. The game has to decompress all its contents to install, and you probably don't have enough free space or cache.

correct there, cause part 2 of the installation is uncompressing files
