Why is the HTC S710 R4000 on Vodacom prepaid at Game but only R3500 on Cell C prepaid?

The phone won't be network locked I think. So you can get it on Cell C, and then just get a Vodacom sim yourself, but there may be an issue with the warranty if you don't use the phone on Cell C for extended periods of time.

The cell company will know when you've used the phone on their network.

You can. Make sure your Cell C sim has been in the phone in the last 6 months before or whenever its faulty.

Hmmm. Well it would suck if it is going to be a hassle. Also, R3500 for the S710 is still too much IMO. Hopefully I will find something second hand for like half of that...
