Games for Windows - Live

Where to start .

First of all me and a buddy bought Dawn of War 2 , GTA 4. After we battled with installs on GTA 4 and updates on Dawn we finally got the games to launch .... then came Games for Windows - LIVE .

We mainly bought these titles for MultiPlay purposes but as far as I can understand we are not within the selected regions so Microsoft is showing us both a fat middle finger !

We cannot even play Dawn single player it keeps on wanting to sign into Windows Live.

I am so fed up with this that I am feeling sick in the stumich !

So this morning I phoned BT Games and they are doing the same as Microsoft ! Sorry Sir its online activated games we will not and cannot refund or exchange ! FFS !

R 800 gone !

I am asking for anyone out there if they perhaps know of a way EXCEPT LAN's to mutli play these games no wait to be able to play them as single player would be a better starting point !

I think if you open DOW2 without having a Internet connection you can create a offline account. From there you can play SP.

If so is there any way you can play this over a type of hamchi link ? or any other means ? maybe BS'ing Windows Live if at all possible ?

You should be able to play DOW single player without Windows Live. Launch the game via Steam and you should be set.

When creating a Windows - Live account, select the UK as the region and you should be set.

Check the Steam forums for DOW2 or the official DOW2 forums as many have struggled with this as well.

We have created USA Live ID's and ensured that they we are able to launch Windows Live App and sign-in with accounts.

When in game and signing in it tunes us not supported region ?

I will be testing a new account right now , and will give feed back asap.

Finally after 2 days of donwloading patches and going crazy !

Got it to work.

You need to have a Win Live ID that is in a supported region as well as create and link a new gamertag to that ID.

Login and hold thumbs - it worked for me !

if you OWN the games and want to play over hamachi then why not just make a "steamless" version with an emulator, windows live override and teknogods.dll to remove ping limit. works for dow 2 and gta 4.

its easy...just not sure if its legal?
