Hi guys,

After all the fuss and debate about the PS3 vs 360 war, I've decided I'd be much more inclined to get a 360. The one concern about the console is that I'd be using it to play the genres that I don't enjoy on PC, as I am primarily a PC user.

The genres I'd like to play are sports, fighting and driving.

But I'd just like to know some of your guys favorite games in these genres...

I've always loved the Tekken series, so what does the 360 have to compete?

Thanks again.

Driving - Project Gotham Racing 3, AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! HDTV = FRIKKEN AWESOME!

Fighting = Dead or Alive Xtreme 4 - rapes tekken in my opinion ;)

Not to mention you can play copied games on the Xbox whilst PS3, copy protection has not been cracked yet...

I am waiting for Forza Motorsport 2.. thats going to be an AWESOME game i reckon... and it looks amazing so far...

Games so far

Thanks for the heads up...

ziglet (is that some other part on a shoe? :D ), I remember playing DoA on arcade and enjoying in BIGtime...

My requirement for a fighting game is that there be lots of indepth fighting moves, like in Tekken, my favourite character was Nina, as she could kill her opponent by just countering their attacks...

Is it the same with the new DoA?

Could you supply me with a link to DOA Extreme 4? Cos I can only find DOA 4 (which looks SO much better than Tekken) and DOA Extreme 2...

Thanks.

Not quite what I was looking for, but thanks for the help anyway. I guess that Extreme 4 isn't out yet.

**** sorry i got DOA Xtreme 2 and DOA 4 mixed up. Have both
DOA Xtreme 2 - hot chicks on jetskis
DOA 4 - Awesome fighting Game ;)

haha , it's dead or alive 4 (fighting) and dead or alive extreme 2 ( nudes + volleyball ). How can you confuse them ?

The only aspect of the 360 that makes me hesitant in buying one, is the price of the games. I mean "Gears of War" R599! WTF! 600 bucks for a game? Is it really so good, so re-playable?

And then the extras you have to buy to get the HD working. Why not just supply the cable with the console? Would it have lowered the margins that much?

I'll wait for the PS3's official launch, and the release of the 360 with HDMI and HD DVD. Maybe, we'll see a price war of sorts. We can only hope.

I'd also wait if there's newer and better tech coming out, but I'm sure the PS3's game prices are going to be just as inflated as the console itself.

I think these guys have such a niche market that they can charge what they want for the games they produce, which is unfortunate for us.

I know it's a hassle buying the extras for the 360, but in the long run, unless you're a real stickler for the PS3's performance over the 360's, it's still going to be a whole lot cheaper to invest in a 360...

But, we're all entitled to our opinions, I'm not even sure I've formulated mine yet, and I really don't want this to be one of those unpleasant 360/PS3 debates, that occur in almost every forum I've seen. Lol...

I'm just excited for next-gen. Be it PC, PS3, 360, whatever... It just all looks so good.

Thats one thing that definately needs to get squashed.... Its entirely unclear whether the PS3 even has a performance margin over the 360, there are more than a few ppl who think its actually the other way round, and they have ideas to back up that theory. I personally think in the long run they'll be pretty much equal.

Nod, the 360 Pro comes with an HD component cable. Also, R599 is a bit much. Most games for the 360 are R400 - R500. Besides, PS3 games will prolly be even more expensive than that.

You can easily find 2nd hand X360 games for R300-R330 which are well worth it IMO.

If you order from overseas websites like www.dvdcrave.com you will also get pretty good deals.

Yeah some games are a bit pricing new, but there's a very good second hand and rental market for 360 games, even as new as it is. GoW I've even seen new between R399 & R400. Buy online if you can, you get great discounts compared to retail.

In terms of the games you want, the 360 has sports and racing games coming out of it's ears!

Racing:
PGR3, Burnout Revenge, Test Drive unlimited, NFS, and those are just the good ones out now. Forza 2 looks to absolutely blow the socks off everything else as well.

Sports
I'm not a big fan, but I know that FIFA 07, Pro eveolution 07 and quite a few others are 360 next gen exclusives!

Fighting
A bit short on sheer numbers, but it makes up in quality, DOA4 is excellent, if you like depth and technique it oozes it. Fight night round 3 is also very good. There's also def Jam Icon and Virtua fighter 5 on the way. in the next few months,

Oh and I almost always forget Small arms on XBLA! It's an arcade brawler which is pretty fun.
