Gaming Forums dying slowly ?

Well, I didn't say what he did was right, but he fought for what he believed in, which basically came down to plundering and waging war, a strange belief and practice to follow so vehemently. What I mostly idolize him for is being such a great strategist, preferring speed and swiftness over brute strength, often winning battles leaders today would deem impossible and suicidal. Also, the Islamic Civilizations weren't entirely innocent, as they started the war by murdering Genghis Khan's scouts. The Chinese had ambassadors within the Mongol lands, moving between the tribes and shifting their weight around, turning battles between tribes to their favor. While Genghis was by no means an innocent man, was the first man to unite all the tribes on the Mongolian plains under one banner, which was a great feat in itself.

Just a little observation, Gaming Forums always seem to be dying when new and exciting games have dried up !

Just wait for a hot new much anticipated game and the forums come alive.

The last game that got me really excited was Fallout 3, before that Clear Sky, even though I gleefully also played Farcry 2, The Witcher, Crysis, Riddick, Oblivion, Prey, Anno 1701, CivCity Rome recently, oh and LOTR The Battle for Middle Earth.

COD 4 bought not played yet, and I just found the Assasins Creed dvd filed between books.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of gamers are socialising on Steam, and perhaps the Gaming Forums have lost one or two regulars that way. (regulars who are still forum members, but with a much lower post count than before Steam)

As a single player gamer, I sometimes feel the pressure of becoming a rarity with everyone now gaming online, still, local gaming forums are always a great source of info and help, and I visit all of them now and then.

Just made it past the tree into the Cordon - Clear Sky. ( 2nd time playing - doing all the loot caches and side missions)

I used to be a NAG forumite for years, but the attitudes that started developing there drove me away. I'm happy to say that My Gaming has been my new forum home for the past few months. It has a great community. BTW I still love my NAG magazine and buy it every month. :D
