Hi all,

Is there any reference/opinion or recommendations of bandwidth required per client for online gaming (will obviously be different per game) - any reference/suggestions/opinions will be appreciated.

My 2Mbps line work fine for me, when i hit soft cap line drops to 384 Kbps and Counter Strike go still run perfect. But with larger game updates and downloads 2 Mbps is  Counter Strike go ping was 30 today I live in the South Coast and a ping of 30 is Awesome. So for Counter Strike go all you need is 384 Kbps and up with low latency. I only play FPS online so can't help with other games.

do not use wireless, do not use 3G/4G/LTE or anything remotely like that.

Fixed line unshaped, usually capped accounts are unshaped, but can pay a little more for uncapped unshaped accounts.

Line bandwidth does very little to impact actual game performance, mostly only for patches downloads etc. I use to play WoW, League of legends counter strike and tons of games on a 512kb/s line while on Teamspeak/raidcall/discord/skype/ventrillo etc.

I think the slowest currently is 1Mb? i am not even sure as I am not living there anymore. At the time I found Mweb uncapped unshaped to be good, now I can not really say anymore. someone else will have to suggest an ISP.

Don't use 3G or any mobile network stuff.
I can (usually) play games on my 256kbps line, but I'd highly recommend at least a 2Mbps line so you can play and at least check email at the same time.
