Hi all,

I saw a laptop suggestion post earlier but it degenerated into a Vista vs XP thread and so decided to start a pure laptop thread.

My situation: I am going out of country and will have no internet access for a month at a time. So I am contemplating the purchase of a Laptop to occupy my time.

I aim to play games and watch DVD's on it. Word, Excel will also be utilised quite often for reports etc. ( I play RPG, Strategy and maybe a few FPS's)

I have intentionally left OS off the list as another mud slinging match would occur.

What I would like is:
Brand:
Model:
Ram:
HD:
Graphics:
DVD writer:
Battery life:
Anything else that would make my gaming life a bit easier:
Price (no limit) and possibly where to buy it:

So if you have a laptop or have been eyeing a laptop with 'uber' specs, please feel free to post you comments. I aim to write off the laptop over 2 years and therefore I am prepared to spend a 'little' more.

Thanks,
Jase
PS. I have and continue to look under the classifed section for something decent.

I had one similar but was P4 3.6 Extreme with 4GB ram, 2x80GB SATA and a 7900GTX.

Was bloody heavy and cost around 3500 pounds.

go for a sony because it has excellent stability and wont bomb on you!!

but I hear the Dell XPS is off the hook for gaming, it was made just for gaming!

Thanks for all the info!

Will have a good look at them over lunch (which starts ... lets make it now!)

O.o

Ouch, even I wouldn't spend this kind of cash:

'DUAL SLI 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800GTX card [add R41,104.31] '
Dell Recommended
