Hey just be careful. a Laptop is never goog for gaming. I had a 3000+ AMD laptop, some time back. With Games (even the less graphics one's) it generates too much heat. rather get a laptop as light and thin as possible, with a mobile processor.

just my 2c

*sigh* , you just complicated it more :D

I got an Insprion 8600 with ATI Radeon 9600 128mb card and it runs things like Battlefield Vietnam, C&C Generals just fine.. It does get hot though when it's running at full tilt (a common problem..)

It's a bit clunky with new games though so I would recommend looking at a desktop if you can. As I recall there are a few companies making specialst gaming laptops but they are pricey..

I suppose it all depends what you want to do with the laptop...

General purpose + gaming is the purpose.

How are the Mobile X700's by ATI? Anyone have first hand experience?
Laptops in the States look much better, what kind of costs am i looking at when bringing in a laptop
from the states?

Price X 1.14VAT X 1.1import service fee X1.1import cost + shipping

My wife's laptop has a mobility X700 and it works pretty well for games. I guess it depends on what level you want to take it too.
