Hi Guys

A little help if possible please...

I want to purchase a keyboard with USB and Audio incorporated, for functional purposes.

I'm looking at the TT eSports Meka G1 or the Challenger Ultimate. My problem is part of the fuctionality I'd want is to be able to plug my mouse into the keyboard. I'd be looking at either the Steelseries D3 mouse or the R.A.T 7 Contagion.

I haven't been able to find a conclusive answer as to whether the mouse would function hasslefree, so any help (suggestions on KB and Mouse also welcome :D) would be appreciated.

Many Thanks!

I've got a keyboard with 2 extra USB ports, and a RAT7 worked off of it no problems, KB LEDs were also on so that was pulling a few more mA than usual. On that front you should be okay.

PS - Monk ftw!!

I just had to click on reply.... I could've just typed a response, but no... I clicked reply.... :P

Thanks for the info though bud. At least I can order with some peace of mind.

I dont know about TT eSports KB's but stay far far away from their mice. I have had 3 go to hell in a handbasket.

I loved the look and feel of them hence me buying more than one. Lol.....lesson learnt. (was early days in my hardware life)

Google is more than your friend with that brand. Normally I would agree with Archer with any advice he gives but I think you should just check to make sure it is a sound KB. Search for the problems that arise. Every product has problems no matter the brand, but this one more so than MSI motherboards. Har har har.

On paper and to the eye, awesome hardware. In reality, sometimes foul.

Have the steelseries sensei myself.......awesome thing! Some glitches with the drivers like light staying on once pc is off....but the fuctionality and feel is superb. But then again the RAT is a piece of engineering genius. No wonder Archer loves it so.

What are you looking to use your keyboard for? Elaborate on how much gaming, typing, etc.

TT Meka's with black switches are generally not great for typing. High resistance, tired fingers. Accurate keypresses though, great for competitive gaming where you don't want to accidently press another key, due to lower resistance.

Thanks for the headsup. Fortunately I won't be looking at their mice though. On the KB side, the errors are what have really kept me away from the Razer boards and why I'm leaning more towards the Meka over the Challenger. As much as it's said you can easily swap to include your mouse, the mouse was never specified, hence me asking....

Bud there'd be the odd bit of typing, but the main use would be for gaming. I have a bit of distance between screen and my KB/mouse setup. All I want to do is reduce the number of cables I have running between that space to one.

Edit: The one Razer KB I was looking as was the Lycosa. Reason I'm not to sure about it is due to the keys being very dim in any bright environment??

Not sure if you're able to test before you buy, I reckon it's quite important. In SA now we have a variety of switches available - blue, black, red, brown. I would research the differences before deciding on black, better yet test IRL. For pure gaming you might even prefer red switches...

I really wish I could test. I have no HW shops anywhere close that sell "gaming" grade devices, so I'm left to what I can dig up or ask about.

As far as I know the Meka uses red switches? Supposed to be non-tactile, non-click which is fine for me...

Be careful getting the Challenger Ultimate, it doesn't have anti-ghosting, had to send mine back total waste of cash. Will never get another TT product again.

AFAIK all the Tt Meka's use Black switches. At least the ones in SA. :erm:

Blacks are the same as Reds, difference being that Blacks = 65g force and Reds = 45g.

Thanks bud. Is that the only reason you sent it back though? I'm still leaning more the the Meka but just out of interest...

Ah thanks for that bud. It should still be fine for me though...

For gaming it'll be excellent. :) I'd be doubtful if you were after it more for typing, in which case I would recommend Blue/Brown.

That stealth has such awesome features, but heck a doo, what an ugly piece of poo.

Mice from TT, the eSports Black gaming mouse, and the level 10M gaming mouse. Tried an RMA with the black, and they said there were no faults. HA! You had to unplug it, then plug it back in for it to be recognized, and this was on 4 pc's. 4! The level 10M had issues with the tracking, they gave me a refund for that one. Bought the Steelseries Sensei with the cash crisps. Bloody awesome mouse. Seriously awesome.

There's a few. I - as a creature of habit - prefer to use Takealot though, and what they currently have in stock is what is dictating my KB option... Lame.... I know...

Yeah that really isn't excusable I'm sorry to say.
