What is the best ADSL ISP account for Local Gaming. Half-Lfe, Quake, Counterstrike, these types of games. Using servers hosted on http://games.saix.net or if u no of other local servers please reply

Alot of people claim any ISP with a saix backbone is better. LIke WA, Axxess and Telkom ISP. Simply because it uses fibre cables, where as an IS backbone uses sattelite. I COULD BE WRONG!

As long as the ISP you choose uses SAIX you will be better off in the game department. The only downside as it stands currently is their restrictive cap.

Do u no the type of bandwidth a game like half-life would use per hour.
Thinking of getting a unshaped Saix account for gaming and IS account for everything else.

Dont worry about shaping if u playing on SGS if u using saix... your ping will be between 20 and 80 all the time...

CSSource = 10-15 megs/h
Battlefield 2 = 30-40 megs/h ( due to twice the players and level size as CS)

so if u play a game like BF2, average 2 hours a day for a month = 60 hours = 2.1gb

You dont need an unshaped saix account for local gaming. SAIX shaped/unshaped perform equally unshaped on local content.

lol, CSS is the most popular game on SAIX, period... last time i checked...
Battlefield 2 is growing fast.
Let's say u guaranteed a full server or 2 just about any time after hours and weekends.

If i have a full retail version of HL2 can i download CSS for free?

CSS is part of full HL retail. but u will have to do a gig of updates via steam
