Gaming on a Budget.

Imagine getting triggered because someone posted their gaming rig specs.

I think one aspect of gaming on a budget is to consider what sort of an experience you expect.

For me, I could not play at 1366x768. Maybe for a game like AOE or something from a similar era, but modern titles just look bad at that resolution,

Then again, if that is all you have or can afford or whatever the scenario, then I suppose as long as you enjoy it that's what matters.

Yes, it like it's a PC, so will play all the best games using the best input devices.
Luckily you didn't listen to fools and buy a console. Then it wouldn't be able to play all the best games. Only some games.

I'm still rocking a 2016 GTX 1070, Core i7 6700K (which is apparently not supported by W11, lol) and can so far play all the latest games I want to play on High. I do admit for Ultra High settings frame rates can dip below 60 easily. There was a game here and there that didn't work so great, but mostly badly optimised games.

Have thought about upgrading, but the prices of tech are insane.

Actually, they were but we thought these were so realistic and we used theatre of the mind to enhance the experience.

Our school pissing competitions were along the line of my ZX Spectrum 48K has better graphics than your Acorn.

Then again, we thought loading a game in 5 minutes was fast using a tape cassette.
 
So only recently I learned that you can unofficially SLI Nvidia potatoes together using Different SLI auto.
Would you want to? I don't know, you tell me

Commodore 64 > Your crap :)

and what you mean 5 min's. Proper games where on double sided tapes and to at least an hour + to load, only to return and find that dreaded "Syntax Error"

You could speed it up by recording off a double deck and speed up the master tape.

"Syntax Error" was the 80s blue screen.
 
Y'all guys giving me inspiration to upgrade my old-ass PC :crying:.

Built this thing around the middle of 2013 for just under R5k

R9 270 2GB
AMD athlon tricore(yes thats 3 cores)
6gb ddr3 ram
500gb hard drive

this box has served me well although i mostly play League, i can still play some older games(pre-2013, although i played the first tomb raider with no issues a while back)

hard drive is definitely showing its age though
